The following information will guide you through the functions and selective approval process on this unique career site.
Am I eligible to submit a profile?
Each candidate will begin by creating a profile that must be submitted for approval. In order to be eligible for the APPROVAL PROCESS you must be a nurse in a leadership role or work in an administrative capacity. The following are some examples:
- Nurse Executive -examples:
CEO/CFO/COO/VP/
Director/Administrators, Consultants, etc.
- Middle-Management Nurses-examples:
Assistant Directors/Managers/Supervisors/Office Managers/
Team Leaders/Charge Level, etc.
- Administrative Nurses-examples:
Educators, Research Assistants/Case Managers
Assistant Case Managers, Coordinators, etc.
The functions that you can perform on this web site are:
Create a New Profile-
On the first screen (home page) you will enter your email address and password. This will allow you to start the process. (If you forget your password at a later date, don't worry, it will be emailed to you at your request).
Click on the Create Profile button. This is available on the first page of the nursing section or click Create Profile in the menu.
The next page will allow you to fill in your personal contact information. Please note the personal information page or any other identifying information will NOT be displayed to potential employers. Fill in the required fields and click 'save and continue to the next step'
Continue adding your information through the next 4 screens,
- Specialties
- Education/Experience
- Leadership Level
- Requirements
You may click on the links at the top of the screen if you wish to skip a section. If you do so make sure you click 'save and go to the next step.' However, if you skip a section when filling out the initial profile, it will not be approved since all sections must be completed.
Upload/Update Resume or Make Resume Viewable -
Once you have completed the last step of the profile you are automatically taken to the upload/update resume page. This step is optional, but a very important feature of our system and we encourage you to upload your resume.
Please note that uploading your resume is not required, but for future purposes
it can be stored when you are ready to email it to a potential employer or allow it to be viewable to paid subscribers. This feature allows you to email your resume to an employer from within the NursingExecutives.com messaging system. You may email your resume when responding to a position that is listed on the site or when you are replying to a message from an employer.
To upload your resume simply click the browse button, select your resume from your hard drive (accepts Word documents, PDF files, Text files, and HTML files), then make sure you check -I would like my resume available to all paid companies that are searching- otherwise the default is they will have to contact you through the messaging system. Remember -clients prefer to see a full resume. Once you have selected your option, click the click to save button.
If you upload a new resume you need to submit your profile again for approval, but if you are just changing the box to have your resume viewable or not, you do not have to submit the resume for approval again.
Submitting Your Profile for Approval -
Once your profile is complete it must be submitted for approval to become available for potential employers to view. The Submit for Approval button is available on the View Profile section. Please note if you edit your profile after it has been submitted for approval, you must repeat the approval process to reflect your revisions
Click on the Review Profile and Submit for Approval button, or select the View Profile button. This is what the potential employer will view. Review the profile and verify that all of the information is correct (Remember this is where you showcase your expertise). If you find an error click Edit Profile and correct the profile then return to the View Profile page. Once all of the information is correct click the Submit for Approval button.
Profiles are reviewed and approved a quickly as possible. Please allow at least 1 business day to receive your response.
Edit Profile -
The profile is edited exactly as it was created. Simply follow through the steps filling in at least all of the required fields.
Once you have made changes to your profile you need to submit it again for approval. Click on view profile, then click on view the profile that you are now editing, and then click on the submit for approval button.
View Profile-
The view profile section of the site displays the current profile that is viewable to the world, and displays it exactly as employers/recruiters would see it. You will have the ability to view the profile that you are editing.
The view profile section is where you will come to submit the profile for approval (see Submitting your profile for approval).
Disable/Enable Profile -
Once your profile is approved it is available for employers to view. If you choose NOT to have your profile viewable to employers you must click on the Disable/Enable button and disable your profile-which also disables your resume from being viewed. If you would like to restore your profile and make it viewable again you can do so by selecting enable profile. Please note that when you click on the Disable/Enable button the status of your profile will be displayed. If you wish to have your profile deleted from our system, you must contact us with your name and e-mail address and request that it be deleted.
Refresh Profile-
Every 90 days you will receive an email reminder to update your profile so the information presented is current.
Search Open Positions -
Employers/Recruiters have the opportunity to post positions they have available to the NursingExecutives.com web site. You can search these positions based on the following criteria:
- Type of position - Searches for keywords within the job titles.
- Salary - You can chose from 4 salary ranges
- Leadership level - Executive, Middle Management, Administrative (see description above)
- State - State where the position is located
- Miles within a radius of a Zip Code - The results will return a list of positions within this radius.
Please note that the criteria is cumulative. i.e. if you select Salary (75-100k) and State (Massachusetts) the result will be all positions in Massachusetts paying 75-100k. You will not get all positions in Massachusetts and all positions paying 75-100k.
Search results are listed on the subsequent page. You can view each position by selecting the Job Title in the list. The next page will include the details of the position. If you wish to return to the search results you may click on Return to Search Results. If you wish to inquire about the position you will click Send Message. Please note: the messages that you send will not reveal your identity if you respond within our system.
Sending Messages -
You may send messages either when inquiring about a position as a result of a search, or when replying to a message from an employer.
*** Please note that all messages that are sent through this system will not reveal your identity. Also note that messages that an employer sends you will arrive in your email box as well as in the NursingExecutives.com messaging system. If you wish to remain anonymous DO NOT reply from your email box, instead come to NursingExecutives.com and respond.
When you click on send message or reply, a message will be entered for you. You can chose to remove this message and insert your own or just add your comments after the message. You may also modify the subject line of the message.
If you have uploaded your resume and wish to send it to the employer simply select the Send Resume checkbox and the resume will be attached to the email sent to the employer.
***But remember that even though you check the box to send resume, it will not be sent if you have not uploaded your resume into the system-see UPLOAD/UPDATE RESUME instructions. If you are not sure if your resume is in the system, click on VIEW PROFILE and at the bottom of your profile it will say Resume available by request? YES or NO.
Checking Messages -
When an employer contacts you a message will be sent to the email address that you have used to identify your account. *** If you wish to remain anonymous do not reply from your email box, instead come to NursingExecutives.com and respond.
Once you have logged in click on Check Messages. This will bring up a list of messages that have been sent to you. Click on the Subject heading to read the full text of the message.
You can also view information on the company that sent the message by clicking on View Company Information (company name). However, this could be a Recruiting Firm or Advertising Firm and not the actual company that is listing the position.
Once the message has been read, you can click on the delete button and remove the message.
Logging Out -
To end your session at NursingExecutives.com click on the logout button located in the upper right hand corner of the site.
Please note if your session is idle for 30 minutes you will automatically be logged out.
Returning to The Site/Changing E-mail Address or Password -
When you return to NursingExecutives.com you can simply enter your email address and password into the form on the right hand side of the screen and login.
**If you need to change e-mail addresses or passwords, login as a registered user with your old e-mail address and password, click on EDIT PROFILE, change your e-mail address and/or password and click on save and go to next step, then hit the Log Out button. **If you do not log out at this page and continue and make any other changes to other pages, you will have to click on Review the Profile you are now Editing and then click on Submit for Approval.
